Zoning for Forced Air? It’s not new. It’s been done successfully for over 60 years with dampers. However, the majority of HVAC Contractors stay away from zoning and won’t see it as solving comfort problems most homeowners live with every day.

Zoning also provides substantial energy savings over single thermostat systems. Independent studies show as much as 33% reduction in KWH with zoning, yet less than 5% of all HVAC equipment shipments are zoned every year. Many contractors say the house is too small for zoning.
